Powered by solar power and kept warm by wood heat, this cozy lodge adds a touch of home to the backcountry. Sitting on a gentle bend of Brewster Creek with the massive Sundance Range as a backdrop, this lodge is one you soon won’t forget.
The lodge has eight guest rooms (with a maximum capacity of 26), a large country kitchen, and a cozy living room area where you can curl up by the wood burning fireplace and lose yourself in a good book. And after a day spent hiking or skiing in the fresh mountain air, you’ll appreciate an added comfort – hot showers!
Mealtime is always an event – you’ll delight in hearty, home-cooked meals and fresh-from-the-oven baked goods – no one ever leaves Sundance hungry.
Sundance Lodge is a 10km (6.2 miles) fat bike, ski or snowshoe from the Healy Creek Trailhead near the Town of Banff on a wide open track set trail. The trail is rated easy to moderate, with an elevation gain of 173 metres (568 feet) and is mainly uphill on the way in. The trail has moderate inclines and declines and while possible for all skill levels, beginner cross-country skiers or fat bikers may prefer to snowshoe in to the lodge. In future years it will be possible to also access the lodge from the 16km trail via the Cave and Basin Trailhead, however this is currently not accessible due to trail construction.
The nightly rate includes accommodation, dinner, breakfast and a packed lunch for the trail.
Exclusive buyout option:
Looking for something special for your large group? The lodge is available as an exclusive buyout for private events.

On the lower level there is a large living room with a fireplace, a large country kitchen and two indoor washrooms with hot showers. The eight guest rooms are located upstairs and all have a bunk bed and either a single or a double bed. Rooms are on a ‘first come, first served’ basis.
The 10km trail starts from the Healy Creek Trailhead on Sunshine Road near Banff (near Sunshine Ski Resort) and will take 2.5 to 4 hours depending on experience level and pace. The trail follows the Healy Creek Trail for around 2.6km before turning onto the Brewster Creek Trail which leads you to the lodge (another 7.2km) and offers scenic valley views through open and forested areas.
