It’s hard to believe how much spectacular Rocky Mountain scenery is packed into this three-hour excursion.

Visit a famous landmark hotel, spot elk or coyotes in the brush, and then cross the tumbling Spray River in this half-day adventure.

From snow-capped mountains and sparkling waterfalls to roaring rivers and thick alpine forests, this trip takes you from the bustling Banff town-site to the peaceful wilderness just a few miles away.

See the renowned Rimrock Resort Hotel, and then trek down to the valley and lead your horse across the lively Spray River.

You’ll ride along the base of Mount Rundle – where you can get a bird’s eye view of both the towns of Banff and Canmore – before passing by the immaculate fairways of the Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course. You’ll continue on to the roaring Bow Falls to cross the river a second time before heading back.

The best parts of the tour for most people include the following:

1

Bow Falls

Breathe in the pine-spiced mountain air as you approach the roaring Bow Falls.

2

Cross the Spray River

The most unique feature of this trip is crossing the tranquil Spray River. On hotter days, your horse may even decide to cool itself off by splashing water onto its belly – it’s an experience unlike anything else.

3

Sulphur Mountain

Climb two thirds of the way up Sulphur Mountain along wooded trails past the famous Rimrock Resort Hotel and underneath the gondola.

4

Mount Rundle

On the descent you’ll ride along the base of Mount Rundle to the Bow Falls and cross the Spray River once more.
